Conducting
Emily Steers has trained with Dr Charlene Pauls, Dr. Gayle Martin and Dr. Lee Willingham.
Highlights include:
- Chorus Director with Grand River Opera (Idomeneo, Norma and the Valkyrie, Hansel and Gretel),
- Music Director with The Singer’s Theatre (Carrie, Les Miserables) and Curtain Call Productions (Legally Blonde, Heathers, Freaky Friday),
- Emerging Artist with Guelph Chamber Choir,
- Assistant conductor with the Mount Allison Elliott Chorale and Laurier Singers.

Singing and Performing
Emily’s experience with and love for singing ranges from the very early, to the very new, to everything in between. Emily has premiered chamber operas, co-founded an early music trio, sung recitals in Canada, the UK, and New Zealand, and performed in classic operas and musicals. Recent highlights include The Governess in Grand River Opera’s The Turn of the Screw, and soloing with the Grand Philharmonic Choir in their concert The Hope of Loving.
